get link Grisel became a Certified Zumba Instructor a little more than three years ago, and has been volunteering with “Amigas en Salud” since 2016. She is originally from Mexico and has been living in North Carolina since 1999.

Kattia is a certified Spinning® Instructor and a ZIN Zumba Instructor, and has been volunteering with “Amigas en Salud” since July, 2017.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in education, and a dual Master’s degree (Educational Psychology and Agricultural Education with emphasis in Nutrition Education).

Cardio Dance Instructor
Olivia is a Cardio Dance instructor and Doctor of Physical Therapy student at UNC-Chapel Hill. She has been teaching group fitness classes with UNC Campus Recreation since 2015, including Cardio Dance, Boot Camp, and TRX formats.
She aspires to become fluent in Spanish, and enjoys volunteering with both Amigas en Salud and SHAC Physical Therapy.
Melissa Jensen and Alison Lacko
Alison and Melissa are doctoral students in the Nutrition Department at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Alison is interested in better understanding health disparities and inequities, and the strategies needed to reduce them. Melissa is focusing her work on obesity prevention policies in the context of Latin America.
They have been volunteering with “Amigas” since January 2017, and are currently the program co-directors. They enjoy the opportunity of promoting health in the community, and dancing to fun music, with great people every week!
